Over the years, you may have heard a number of speakers discuss the topic of abortion, but have you heard a woman speak about how an abortion affected her? Or have you ever heard from someone who actually survived an abortion? You will have the opportunity to meet and hear from two young women who have experienced abortion and its profound effects on their lives. On Saturday, November 10, 2012, Foundation for Life will host its annual banquet and silent auction at the Town Square Marriott Hotel in Sugar Land .

“October Baby” is an award-winning film that takes you on a journey of a college student who learns that she was adopted after a failed abortion. Shari , who played the part of Cindy, the birth mother in “October Baby,” will share the story of her own secret abortion more than 20 years ago. As a remembrance of this very special event, Shari Rigby has agreed to autograph DVD copies of “October Baby” which will be available at a reduced price.

Melissa Ohden
Despite her birthmother’s attempt to abort her at 7 months gestation, Melissa survived against all of the odds and was adopted. Today with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, she has worked in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence/sexual assault counseling, and child welfare. She will share her inspiring story of her triumph over a culture of death as she presents her powerful message of hope, healing and forgiveness.
